The Yale Bright Star
Catalogue (HR)

The "HR" numbers refer to the stars included in the Harvard Revised Photometry, Annals of Harvard College Observatory, 1908. These numbers form the selection of the Bright Star Catalogue (BSC) of Yale University Observatory. The catalog contains 9110 entries, but fourteen of these were found to be novae (stars that are temporarily bright) or extragalactic objects. Those these objects are not appropriate to a "bright star" catalog, the entries have been maintained to keep the original numbering order.
