The Cassini spacecraft astounded scientists with the photo, below. This was taken from Saturn's "dark side" with the sun beyond. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997. Eight years later (2005), the Huygens probe broke off and descended through atmosphere to the surface of Saturn's largest moon, Titan. In this photo, every dust particle near Saturn has been lit up.
A new IMAX full-length film includes footage from the Cassini spacecraft built from thousands of still pictures. A short flyby clip is available online as a preview to the new film.
