The Importance of Geology in the Atlantis Quest
All the talk of location and impact of Atlantis on the foundations of our own history are meaningless if Plato's lost island never existed. Perhaps the most critical part of the Atlantis quest is the element of geology. If such an island were not possible, geologically, then the remainder of the discussion is merely a pleasant fiction. As you can see from the video, Atlantis was indeed possible geologically. Most modern mountains were created by similar actions. How Atlantis was destroyed, though, may have been unique in the history of Earth.
